• Student & staff data — names, grades, attendance records, and performance data entered by your school administrators
• Payment information — processed securely through Chapa and Stripe; we do not store raw card numbers
• Usage data — pages visited, features used, and actions taken within the platform

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and improve MelaSchools services
• Process school registrations and manage accounts
• Send administrative notifications, approval updates, and platform announcements
• Respond to support requests and troubleshoot issues
• Generate analytics and performance insights within your school dashboard
• Comply with legal obligations

All data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. We implement industry-standard security measures including role-based access control, audit logging, and regular security reviews.

School data is logically isolated — your school's data is never shared with or accessible by other schools on the platform.

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:

• Service providers — such as payment processors (Chapa, Stripe), SMS providers, and cloud infrastructure vendors, solely to deliver our services
• Legal authorities — when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users

We retain your school's data for the duration of your active subscription plus 90 days after termination, giving you time to export records. After this period, data is securely deleted upon request.

As a school administrator you have the right to:

• Access all data associated with your school
• Request corrections to inaccurate information
• Export your data in standard formats
• Request deletion of your account and associated data

MelaSchools uses essential cookies to maintain your session and authentication state. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Student data entered by school administrators (including minors) is treated with the highest level of privacy protection. This data is only accessible to authorized staff of the relevant school and is never used for advertising or shared with third parties beyond what is required to operate the platform.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered administrators of material changes via email. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
